Singapore, 11 February 2014) Singapore Airshow 2014, one of the important aerospace and defence exhibitions in Asia, will be held at Singapore Changi Exhibition Centre from 11 to 16 February. The Hong Kong Business Aviation Center (“HKBAC”) is the only business aviation support facility in Hong Kong, The number of business aircraft based in Hong Kong has risen from two aircraft in 1998, when HKBAC was established with its first hangar, emerging to over 100 aircraft in 2013. Hangar 2 launched in 2007 as business aviation continues its growth in Hong Kong with 15 aircraft residing in HKBAC at that time. Despite the fact that HKBAC opened its third hangar in May 2012 to boost HKBAC parking and maintenance capacity, the demand of aircraft parking space and resources are still insufficient in Hong Kong. Some of the commercial aircraft hangars and service providers, such as China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL), extended their services to increase business aircraft nowadays. A significant number of Hong Kong-based business aircraft are required to reside and to be served in airports of Shenzhen, Macau and the Philippines.
